10. If my Dad was still living, he would have been 100 years old today
Edited on Thu May-08-08 06:42 PM by Liberalynn
So actually I did celebrate a bit in his honor.

Nice dinner and dessert.

He was 22 years older than my Mom, and I was a late in his life baby. Mom's kind of sad today. She still misses him. He died in 91.

Also he was born in our house, so a member of our family has contiously lived in this house for over a 100 years now.

17. Awww - happy birthday to your Dad
Sounds like our family - my dad would be 100 on November 23rd this year, and he was 17 years older than Mom. I'm glad you still have your mom - both of my parents died long ago.

That's really cool about him being born in your house and someone continuously living there.

11. Took one of my favorite parishioners to lunch.
Her first day out and about after knee surgery. I told her I'd take her anywhere she wanted to go. She wanted a Frosty, so we went to Wendy's. And had a nice visit. It's a beautiful day here.

13. And today is Israel's Independence Day...
at least it is if you're Chris Matthews. Intelligent people usually recognize May 14 as Isarel's Independence Day.

Anyone here has a birthday on or around February 12 (May 8 + 280 days)? Maybe your parents were celebrating.

22. Vive la France!
5/8/1429: the French army lead by Jeanne D'Arc, age 17?, captured the city of Orleans thus turning the tide of the 100 years war toward the French and away from England. This victory assured French domination of Europe intil the 1800s.
