So I Got A Letter From My Rethuglican Congressman Agreeing With Me!
I asked him to support a House bill that PREVENTED limiting Medicaid payments for things such as targeted case management, provider taxes, graduate medical education, and lots of services currently provided to Medicaid beneficiaries (Medicaid is a federally funded and state run medical program for indigent medical care. Most of which is provided to children)

He wrote me a letter back saying he agreed and had voted on it and it had passed 349-62 in the House. I'm not sure what the Senate's bill number is or was but it was H.R. 5613. He also put on the letter in his own writing "I agree SPK, Thanks" (well not SPK but my name :P  the thought of him calling me SPK made me crack up)

Has the world changed its polarity suddenly and I missed it????

I was in fact not surprised there are a few of his wealthier constituents that donate to him that are owners/providers that while probably abusing Medicaid, are providing services to a lot of people who wouldn't get those services otherwise in creative ways that have let them make LOTS of money from Medicaid.

So sometimes one is surprised and not surprised at the same time.

I've never had him send me a letter agreeing with me. Usually he writes something snarky at the bottom about how he disagrees. One such notable time was when he said "well if there are no WMD in Iraq, then where did they go SPK?" (paraphrase) and went on to talk about Syria etc.

Yeah, I write him a little bit.... :P

:hi: Hi everyone!!!!

The imperial storm troopers are coming complete with music to get us in my living room right now, but soon we shall escape and go see Speed Racer :D

1. Update: Speed Racer .... Meh, not so hot
but

SPK JR LOVED it!

It was a surrealistic movie based on a comic book.

A lot of time spent racing around a track and watching cars do things that cars can't do. It was a little fun, but I got distracted by the lady next to me having a text message extravaganza  I almost dozed off a few times. But it was about a **1/2 star movie by my rating.

I will say that Christina Ricci looked nice :D

Although the fact that I can remember her as a child actress makes me feel old... guess I am :hi:

2. No not based on a comic book
But on a sixties cartoon, that I grew up watching..And glad SPK,jr liked it. From what I hear only kids would like it. As a fan of the original, I daresay I would most likely despise it.

My parents didn't let me watch some things, but I just don't even remember it.

4. I had that happen once...
when I lived in another state and I sent a letter to inform my senator of my opposition to canned hunting and asking him if the issue ever came to the Senate to vote against animal cruelty. I wasn't expecting a response, instead I got something I never expected...a completely-handwritten note explaining that the issue of canned hunting specifically and opposition to animal abuse was extremely important to him because "we were given dominion over the animals and that dominion carries responsibilities which we are not living up to."

I'm not saying who because we're talking not merely GOP but universally-reviled GOP. I'll give a hint though if anybody wants to try to guess: He was recognized by both HSUS and PeTA for having one of the strongest voting records for animals in the Senate ever.

You aren't going to get it, if you did your head might actually explode.
