I just picked up the English version of radio Havana Cuba on my shortwave
6.18 MHz
I just heard a broadcast about fish production.
I didn't know this even existed.

1. Oh yeah, Havanna comes in pretty clearly.
It's the Middle-East stations I can't ever seem to get.

2. The only other stations I seem to pick up are stations like "Family Radio" and some other -
fundy station.

3. I get French Canadian stations all the time.
Only chance I get to use my French.

4. Do you have the Passport book?
I think the full name is The Passport Guide to World Band Radio. It comes out every year and has a listing of English-language broadcasts and a bunch of other information.

6. Pretty much anywhere.
I big commercial bookstore will usually have one copy on the shelf.

If not, then you can get it here.

7. Oh yeah. I got a ton of postcards when I wrote the station with my shortwave reports back in the day
I even got a few of my questions read and answered on the air. I'm sure that got me in a file somewhere. I used to try and focus on the countries that were behind the "Iron Curtain" just seemed interesting hearing shows from the "Dark Side". One of my prize replies was from a low power East Berlin station along with stickers and a few stamps for my collection. I haven't busted out my shortwave in awhile, in the internet age it just doesn't seem as challenging since you can listen online fairly easily now.
