4. Call the police and tell them you hear an alarm coming from your neighbors apartment
that should get it silenced. Act like you are concerned for his well being.;-)

Maybe you should call the cops. Or your landlord at least. I do have a carbon monoxide alarm in my house. And it did beep one time due to a low battery.

5. I just remembered that happening at my old house...

and I called the fire dept. at 5 AM because I thought the beeping was a dying smoke alarm
but it turned out to be the alarm on the stove! I couldn't figure out where it was coming
from either but they checked my whole house, just in case. They pulled that old stove away
from the wall and unplugged it for me. The beeping stopped. ;) Maybe it's an old watch in your closet?

11. Do you have an old cell phone around
I occasionally turn my old one on to get contact information. It chirps when the battery's dying.

Hope you find whatever it is.

14. Embarrassed to admit, did the 'Spring Forward and Fall Back' routine
Kept hearing the Chirping. Changing batts, kept chirping. OK, bought new smoke detectors because the Home Depot Guy said they don't last forever, and yeah they had given me a good 7-8 yrs. Got a better deal via Sam's Club, bought eight (8) new smoke detectors for the whole house. Nice, they didn't make me drill new holes to fit. Loud enough to peel the paint off the ceilings.

Kept chirping, kept changing batteries (thankfully cheap, got them at the Dollar Store). Going nuts!!! I'm partially deaf, what if I can't hear a smoke detector at night?

In the basement, changing the batts on my new smoke detector (once AGAIN to make it STOP!) over the dryer and still going nuts. Discovered that I had left the OLD dead smoke detector there on the shelf with its dead battery intact. When I stuck that guy into the garbage can, it had the audacity to chirp at me some more while I was walking away.

Don't tell anybody, okay?
