Nothing like waking up to Tornado Sirens.
Apparently, there is a tornado warning for our area in Columbus. It's funny being from Texas to hear the sirens when it's not even rainy or windy. I hope everyone in the area stays safe and has a nice Sunday afternoon.

I don't guess we'll be going mushroom hunting today with these storms. :(

1. Glad you're okay
We had lots of storms all go around us for the most part last night. Lots of rotation and I think maybe even some tornadoes north of here. After some rain the mushrooms will really grow.

Hmm... mushroom hunting  what kind of mushrooms do you hunt?

2. Morel mushrooms.
They look like little Christmas trees, but can get to the size of a thermos.

I'm so glad that you are still in one piece. It looks like y'all were slammed. (They are showing it on the weather map now.) Stay safe in this crazy spring weather!

4. i think that would scare the crap outta me
of course, i've lived my entire life in a place that does not have tornado sirens...we occasionally get tornado watches or warnings, but i don't ever remember one touching down within 15 or 20 miles of us

i'm sorry you don't get to go mushroom hunting :(

6. It was more annoying than scary.
I guess I should have gotten right up and come downstairs to check the weather. Not a very good safety habit or self-preservation response, but at least Zodiak was up and could wake me if something really dangerous was going on. I hope you never have to go through a tornado. They are quite scary. My FIL's mother was thrown 100 yards by the Tornado of '79 in Wichita Falls. She lost one of her eyes, bur she is almost 100 years old and still sneaking beer at parties. (She has everyone go get her half a glass, please )

Hopefully, there will be one more growth of mushrooms after these storms. :crossing fingers:

I hope you have a lovely day, kagehime!:loveya:

7. Texas has some of the most spectacular storms I've ever seen
I've seen a gorgeous sunny day turn into the blackest depths of hell in less than an hour. The cells are just murderous and unrelenting. Stay safe out there.

9. Yeah we had a great one last night
Major thunderstorm! So I did what I always do - went out and walked around in it :)

8. Yeah. Oh-two-fifteen hours here.
Run upstairs to shove the cats in carriers, drag 'em to the basement. Carry the little dog down. Listen to the music of eight discontented animals for hours, waiting for an all-clear signal that never comes. We were able to sneak looks at the radar via a phone, and so eventually crept upstairs to sleep for a couple more hours. Ugh.

11. That was some storm we had early this morning.
I was sleeping and the thunder sounds were right over the house.

The dogs and the cats were up and running around.

I got up and watched the storm and then went back to bed, it was a hell of a show.
