3. Thank you.
Reminds of the old joke from Latin class.

"Would you like a martini?" "If I wanted more than one, I'd have ordered them".

5. I had a short conversation with an idiot yesterady about the Prius.

She called it a Prism. My sister's husband's mother is an idiot. She has an opinion on everything, and it is never ever remotely close to accurate. She makes remarks under her breath. In fact, at my sister's wedding, she was literally making faces at her ex-husband, the father of the groom. She'll continue to deal with 10-20 mpg in her Corvette.

I bought an Escape Hybrid in 2005, since I have to deal with snow and hockey equipment. The Prius doesn't fit goalie gear a the same time as passengers. It's not nearly as good as a Prius in the MPG spec, but it does do the job. After seeing my Escape, my mom and dad bought a Prius. They don't haul anything but people, so it's a wonderful car. Especially when they have to do the I-80 trips.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Prius II does. (Or whatever it's called). Carbon Fiber + enhancements in the drivetrain could get 100MPG. It will be fun. Hopefully Ford/GM have something on the way that will keep them afloat. I'd like to see an Escape Hybrid with the carbon fiber treatment and some aerodynamics. 4WD comes in really handy in the places I have to go some times. If they could get a small SUV into the 50's from the 30's, that would be pretty amazing.

16. If you're referring to the Escape...
I had to drive to New Mexico to get one since the dealerships in Colorado wanted $3000 over sticker.

There isn't another hybrid vehicle in production that is Union built by a company here in the USA, that I can invest in and vote on their business's practices.

6. Murkier
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/ideas/brainiac/2007/03/the_plurals_of.html

This morning John heard a WBUR reporter jokingly refer to the plural of the Toyota Prius as "Prii," and he wondered: Could that Latin plural be right, or was this plural form just a misbegotten language hybrid, as it were?

Well, my Latin is minimal and creaky, but Miss Madge Mossman (R.I.P) equipped me with enough grammar for a Google search. And the first thing I found was the much-quoted misinformation provided by a Toyota spokesman back in 2004. "Prius is a Latin word meaning 'to go before,'" he explained. "Toyota chose this name because the Prius vehicle is the predecessor of cars to come."

But prius can't be a Latin infinitive; "to go before" would have to be a verb, like, say, precedere. Actually, prius is just the neuter form of prior, the comparative adjective, meaning "earlier, anterior, superior." As a noun, it would mean "earlier one" or "superior one." And its plural would be, if I read aright, not Prii but Prioria.

Pleasant enough -- but as it happens, prioria is also medieval Latin for "priories." And while Prius drivers are a devout lot, they probably don't think of their cars as nunneries and monasteries. I'm guessing we'll settle down with the standard English plural; after all, we've got plenty of words weirder than Priuses.

8. I took it to be more of a proper name in Latin such as Julius
or Severus and multiples of those would be Julii or Severi hence Prii. I do like Prioria also and would they sell in Peoria?

11. The same rule applies to the "Lexus".
If you have money, you have Lexii. Some folks with money will have Prii, but more have Lexii, from what I have seen.

17. I think it's "Priera". Now doesn't that sound better as a plural?
Based on "opus's" plural of "opera".
