Today was a tough day for me

Today was the first Mother's Day that I didn't really miss my Mother, Bettie, an absolutely courageous woman who taught me to stand up for the things I believe in. And I still miss her a little every day. I didn't miss her so much as miss, maybe for the first time in my life, not having a family of my own. Miss having little bodies to cuddle and little faces to stare up at me, either in sheer joy or sheer fury, whichever. LOL.

And wonder why I didn't. Don't.

I don't hate kids. I love kids actually. But it just never turned out that way.

*Sigh* Tomorrow I'll get on with my life, but today it's a little tough.

My wife and I are also childless, not by choice, and it really hit me this year that it causes her pain to not have been given the chance to hold our child in her arms. Our little bundle of joy went straight to heaven without joining us for even a brief time here. You have my heartfelt sympathy today.:hug:

A few weeks ago, I picked up a little girl during the Peace to hug her. She seemed abnormally quiet, so I asked how she was feeling. She gave me the whole run down about how she had been throwing up. I sympathized -- and she obviously appreciated the concern. She's my good bud!
