1. If your friend has a computer....
I would download Skype.

Absolutely free, and clear as a bell.

6. We love onesuite.com
My husband was spending $1200 a month for long distance at the company he owns and now the bill is $30/month and our kids share the minutes calling from college.

Series!!!!!!!!!11111111111111

You can talk for free, computer to computer, or call a lot of places in the world for cents a minute to any phone.

www.skype.com

Skype is the Shiznit. I use it all the time to talk to friends all over the world.

To Ireland:

Ireland $ 0.021
Ireland-Dublin $ 0.021
Ireland - Mobile $ 0.197
Ireland - Shared Cost $ 0.261

9. Skype is sweet, true

However my Irish friend is technologically-challenged and doesn't have a computer! Alas.
