Man, even the grocery stores are ridiculously pretentious where I am now

I down on Robson street in Vancouver. It's the touristy, young, hip, affluent urbanite place. I like it here, but as a whiskey swiggin,' stubble-faced, potty-mouth writer.... I sometimes wonder why I'm here.
But, yeah, here's the closet grocery store.. there's a capers just the other way too. Look at the intro and crap, how phony and shallow can ya get?
I went to the capers the other day looking for bacon... they don't sell bacon. They sell "Pork strips" oye!

Another election escapade this fall, and I don't know how much I'd want to remain in the US. I'm not really tied to here, I'm committed to living wherever freedom reigns. Now, if they could just turn up the thermostat a bit in Canada.

one of the grocery stores near me has a Wolfgang Puck restaurant...IN THE GROCERY STORE. The rest of them are slumin' with only a Starbucks or a Coffee Bean.

The sad thing is, after you walk down the organic veggie aisle and see green beans for $7/pound, the Wolfgang Puck restaurant seems cheap.

See, we ain't got sobeys out in Terminal city, so I always tell Maritimers I worked at sobeys and they're like, "So?"
