I half built a small stone circle out of pebbles on the grass verge above the beach. I'll go back and finish it in June.

6. Isle of Arran, off the West coast of Scotland.

Much hotter than it usually is at this time of year.

?v=0

That island in the distance is Arran. It's gorgeous in May and pulled out all the stops this year.

4. I cannot resist.
How many teeth do you have left? If it's more than four, you might be ok. If it is four or less, you might have to move down here with me.

Geez, I've been in GD: P too long today.

13. Why what? Why did they take out the tooth?

Because I have horrible weak teeth. And, I have to be honest, I am PETRIFIED of dentists and if things go wrong with my teeth I put them off and off and don't deal with them until it's a pain of some sort or another. I'm not usually so silly as to let it get as bad as it did this time, though. This one got seriously decayed and the decay was hidden away down the side of the gum, invisible and trapped between the offending tooth and it's partner, except below the gum line, right down to the bone. I'm amazed I couldn't feel it, but I couldn't, and I couldn't see it until it was WAAAY to late to do anything. It was all soft and punky like a rotten tree root. It looked fine until you looked at the bit hidden between it's back surface and it's neighbour.

Well, you asked. :D

and that last smiley should have a nice big black hole in it's smile!

12. They gave me lots of painkillers. For some reason they don't work very well on me.

Also, there were hideous abscesses at BOTH roots which doesn't help with pain and also it was a fuck-off huge molar with one of those straddling root systems that bulges out and scrapes your gum on the way out and, um, yeah. Ow. It's STILL painful, a bit, more than 24 hours after. The hole's pretty ugly, too.

31. Narcotics aren't working?
If there were abscesses, I suppose you are on penicillin. Once the infection is under control, you should be okay.

Is it a throbbing pain? If so, you may have blood under pressure around there. That happened to me once. Narcotics didn't work, so the dentist told me at night over the phone to dig out the temporary filling. When I did, I little blood shot out (the tooth had been root-canaled) and the pain was gone.

Call the dentist and ask about it.

20. What kind of ice cream are you eating?
That was the only good part about getting my wisdom teeth pulled. Not exactly the same, but close enough. I got to sit on the couch and eat Ben and Jerry's.

Iced tea supposedly helps with the pain, BTW.

You are, of course, enjoying an amusing laugh at my expense, sir. Ice cream?!?!? I wish. Lukewarm soup is all I can handle. It's a bit humiliating, really.

But there will LOTS of ice-cream when this is all over, hoo hoom yes, THEN they'll see, ha ha...

27. OHHHH..I feel your pain.
I had one crack badly and had to have it pulled a few days before my son's wedding 1 1/2 yrs ago. The gum is still not filled in completely, dentist said it takes a long time for those large molar openings to completely heal.

I never experienced such awful pain(a root broke when the Dentist pulled and he had to dig..it took almost an hour) and after taking the pain killers for one lousy day, I couldn't take them anymore because they made me see weird stuff everytime I'd close my eyes. I was able to make it through the rehearsal dinner and wedding with the help of a little alcohol.

I hope you feel better soon. Once your infection clears I bet you'll feel better. I agree with the warm salt water rinses..it really does help. Make sure you swish well, to keep any debris from settling into the open area.
