Great googly moogly! Anyone ever hear of a place closing for Mother's Day?
It happened twice yesterday. I headed out to the cramped little convenience store down the block yesterday afternoon, only to find that it was closed for flippin' Mother's Day?! :wtf:

Then on my way to work this morning, I pass this dive bar (across from the homeless shelter!), and it bore a crudely lettered cardboard sign reading "Clousd for Mothers Day"!

And no, this isn't a Hawai'i thing, at least not that I've noticed in seven and one-half years upon the sacred 'aina.

1. Maybe the owners are mothers.
They deserve Mother's Day off too. :D
