OMG they're all drunk.
I work in a hotel, and we have a golf group staying here. But since we had that bad storm all day, all these guys did is drink since they checked in this morning. Now they keep calling me and coming down to the desk.

Ten more minutes and I can go home.

1. What do they want from you?
The drunkest people I have seen are people in hotel bars. Maybe it is because they don’t have to drive anywhere to go to bed.

6. Everything under the sun.
To chat, to complain about something, to ask me where every bar is in town, because they couldn't figure out how to call each other's rooms. Oi.

2. I worked for a high end hotel chain for a couple years.
I was in Consumer Affairs at the home office, and I feel you pain.

The calls from the drunks were the absolute worst. Not to mention the ones that called to complain about getting hauled off in handcuffs for being obnoxious assholes or otherwise destructive.

I had one guy call and insist on compensation because he arrived drunk and took a piss in the valet area for all to see. He said the peon valet guy embarrassed his tender feeling by telling him he couldn't do that.

Another guy called me insisting on his entire week stay be comped, because he went to the desk in nothing but his boxer shorts to share porno with the staff. He said they had no right to humiliate him by escorting him back to his room to put some clothes on.

Oh gawd, the stories I could tell....

4. it seems like being in a hotel gives people odd license to act in ways
they never would at home.

Hope your day ended better....

5. That's what hotels are for!!
:P

Well; not really but having a few when my son was getting deployed sure made me feel better...
and so did the lady at the desk. She was very kind. Hang in there. You don't really know why
they're there, do you? It's all in a days work and hey? They're paying for it! ;)

10. Oh, I'm nice.
I'm very kind and professional.

And they were there on a golf vacation. It's this package this company puts together for corporate guys to come stay at our hotel and play golf at all the area courses. But we had terrible rain and wind all day yesterday so they couldn't play golf. They spent the day drinking instead. :P

11. Another perspective
I went to a convention of a group of people who knew each other through the Internet. I'm actually very shy. I couldn't meet them face to face. So I spent the first two days locked in my hotel room drinking vodka (hoping it would give me courage) and calling reception and housekeeping and room service just to have someone to talk to.

I finally wised up and went out and met them in RL and had a great time. But I apologize to all hotel workers :)

Khash.
