Waitlisted...
Having lurked here for some 2 years this seems to be a pretty good place to vent.

Just checked my email, and saw that subject line letting me know the decisions were in for transfer students to NYU. WAITLISTED! UGH! You've gotta be kidding me! Why don't they just fucking say we'll let you in but only if you dance and get on your knees and grovel for us. Now I'll have to send in a bunch of information to keep my application on the top of the pile, see if they're willing to let me interview, or even INSIST on an interview. I'll figure it out though, just need to be persistent without being annoying.

If I'm waitlisted at NYU, that doesn't bode well for BC, though BU is certainly still in the game, but getting the okay from NYU would have just made my week. Now I'm just sitting here in a giant steaming pile of self doubt.

1. Oh, that sucks, my dear Inquisitive...
The Lounge is certainly the place to vent...

Uncertainty is certainly the hardest thing to bear, when you're waiting for the other shoe to drop!

Do Not Doubt Yourself!

Someplace wonderful will accept you.

I recently read about some folks who had to go to their second tier choices...and they discovered they were good fits there, and that the places had charms that they hadn't realized...

I hope you get your choice, and very soon!

2. Peggy is quite wise
It really doesn't matter, even 10 years post college, where you went to school.

What matters is that you learn what it takes to do well in life. Learn to appreciate the here and now; it can be gone in an instant. Learn that beauty is inside and so is bravery.

Often college does not offer that info, and your family does. You just don't know it until much later.

3. My dear Capn Sunshine...
Thank you for the compliment!

I think you've said something quite beautiful here: Learn that beauty is inside and so is bravery.

Our poster would do well to remember those words!

As would I...
