8. Oh My Sweet Fellow Philly Fan

I would rather not ruin your day. But I will share with you that under the clothes I am now wearing, I am Naked.

My wife got me a great early birthday present - A commemorative tribute to Harry Kalas - "Voice of the Phillies." I can now sit in the garage and crank up Harry making Mike Schmidt home run calls over and over again. Also a segment on Richie Ashburn. Its a tearjerker for old Philly fans.

I am too young to have any Richie Ashburn memories.....but I do walk down Ashburn Alley everytime I head over to CitiBank Park for a game. :)

As for Harry and Mike Schmidt......now THOSE days I remember. And it hasn't been the same since; although Jimmy has brought alot of excitement back for the fans.

11. I cried my eyes out

the day I heard Richie Ashburn died. It was in 97 and I was on travel with the Navy. Broke my heart in several pieces. Yeah, the Phils have a great bunch of new heroes. Kinda wished they'd kept Rowand from last year.

Where is the new park relative to wear the Vet used to be? I haven't been back to Philly in quite awhile. I was stationed in the Navy there in the 80's, but I guess the old Navy yard is now a ghost town.

The Missus is dragging me to the quarter Saturday. I'll pass on the Hand grenade though. Love the bar, but avoid their "specialty drink." Way too strong for this Beer Drinker.

The state legislator recently took up the important job of naming a State Cocktail. I think the Sazerac was the frontrunner but it went down in flames. Folks with values did not want to glorify drinking. Imagine the horror of such a notion in the Big Easu. The Fleu Di Lis however was annointed as the state symbol.
