Eastern NC DUers: air show in Lumberton this weekend
All y'all come down to the Mid-Atlantic Fly-In at the Lumberton Regional Airport, Lumberton, NC, this weekend. The show starts on May 16 and ends May 18. Among the featured attractions will be a lot of biplane flying, old Army aircraft owned by Vietnam veterans (there's a Cobra sitting on the grass at the airport right now; there will be many more aircraft, including at least some cargo planes, come Friday), and the opportunity to walk through an Osprey.

Directions to the Lumberton Airport: take I-95 to Exit 17. At the top of the offramp, turn left if coming southbound or right if coming northbound. Turn right at 5th street (Atkinson's gas station and hotel, the BP station and the Hardee's are right there) and go to Airport Boulevard, where there is a sign pointing at the airport. Turn left onto Airport Boulevard and go straight into the airport.

Parking: Very limited. There's a grassy field on either side of David Street (it comes left off Airport Boulevard) which will fill up quick, plus there are some fields near Robeson Community College's flight school building; those are probably your best bet.

If you're coming down, PM me or e-mail xpr3@embarqmail.com. Try to come down Saturday; on Friday I'll be printing all day and on Sunday I won't be here, but on Saturday I'll definitely be around.
