I worked out today for the first time in 7 years and...
I am OUT of shape!

I thought I was going to die. 6 miles, between the bike and the elliptical. I'm going back on Friday for strength training.

5. And I smoke too...
:hide:

I'm really motivated. I feel good tonight. Excited to keep it up. Plus, it's my campus fitness center, so it's free :D

Thanks! :pals:

I didn't smoke for 1.5 hours afterward...I had NO desire! If only I could work out 12 hours a day, I'd be quit in no time! :D

11. Wouldn't that be the life?
Get rich, do nothing but climb rocks, ride bikes, wind surf, get high.

6. Hot Damn GF!!!!!!
I am so proud of you :pals:

I really need to try and do it too. I even have an elliptical here at home - I am jsut waiting for the "right time" i.e. no pain, allergies not preventing me from being able to breathe, etc. I am probably making excuses ...

Good luck! I am going to try and do it tomorrow :D

8. Thank you love!!
I felt like a wuss, only being able to do that much. But...I need to do what I can and keep progressing, I guess. :)

No, you have legitimate reasons, but I do encourage you to try! :bounce:

And, I SO envy your elliptical. I looked at them online...I'd need a few more stimulus checks to afford a good one. Boooo!

:loveya:

10. Little MB is the elliptical queen...
At first I was concerned that she would get over-developed legs like a gymnast, but since I limited her to 2 miles a day (she's only 8 for crying out loud) she just gets on with her MP3 player, listening to They Might Be Giants and rocks out

PS. thanks for the encouragement :loveya:

12. Damn, that's pretty good for the first day
At my peak last spring, I was doing about that amount, 3-5 times a week. And I don't smoke! However, in my defense, I am seven years older than you too. ;)

Glad to hear the workout went well. :pals:

14. let me know how you feel in the morning!
I joined a gym in February. I've been going 3 to 4 times a week. Started with strength training. Cried like a little girl the day after I worked my arms! Then the day after legs! Are you kidding me!! I was limping all over the place!

Anywho now is weight loss so I do total body work outs. Couldn't tell you how much I've lost, since I don't own a scale, but my clothes are much looser! Got the big wedding in September, so I have to look good! You keep up the good work too, you'll be amazed at how soon you will feel amazing!! :loveya:

15. You will make Chuck Norris look like a big wuss
I'm doing alright. A little too busy with work, and playing medication roulette, but otherwise doing alright. I got a new boss at work who just happens to be bipolar, too, so he's been quite cool with everything.

Needless to say, with work being so hectic, the last thing I want to do when I get home is go online, so I've been away. But things are getting better, so I hope to remedy that situation9 (especially now that the primaries are all but done with). :)

16. DAMNIT!!!!!!!
you actually did it...

You know that this means I have to go workout now too don't you?

Well, I already am a bit. I need to go bike shopping too.

I work out some just to keep everything working as well as possible with the arthritis I have. I am not going to get huge and muscular, but keep my joints moving as well as possible. The bike would be a good cardio workout though.

Congratulations!

But, I haven't gotten my bicycle yet. Finals time, and Sniffa's swamped at work. Saturday is what I'm shooting for, maybe Friday.

You can do it! :)

Thank you :pals:

20. You don't realize how bad you've gotten until you actually get up and do it. :P
I was in the same boat not too long ago. I'd been doing heavy manual labor (and building up a helluva lot of muscle and endurance in the process) for almost three years when I got sick of still having a bit of a tummy so I started jogging.

I could barely make one lap around one small section of my apartment complex. And I was breathing heavily for the next fifteen minutes.

I may have been in shape in the muscle tone sense, but not in the cardio sense.
