Poll question: help me decide what to do in denver one day next week
Edited on Fri May-16-08 03:12 PM by kagehime
my guy and i are going to a concert at red rocks on wednesday (the cure....eeeeeeeeeee!) and we're going to stay down there and spend thursday in denver. however, we can't decide what we want to do with our day. obviously, it's going to depend on the weather (the weather is still nuts this time of year. it could be 90 degrees or pouring down rain or some other craziness). i've been to all the places in the poll, but he's never been to any of them and he's cool with anything.

what would you guys do?

1. Satire Lounge for lunch.
Beef and sour cream burrito smothered with chili and cheese with a blue margarita. OMG, just typing it makes me ache with desire.

Then I would just walk around downtown. Maybe go to some of the offbeat places like the Brown Hotel (is that what it is called). The architecture of the new art museum is supposed to be pretty cool.

Dinner at Le Central (the affordable french restaurant) would finish it off for me.

I like to eat.

2. i'm leaning toward the art museum because it's downtown
there will be more for us to do while we're in the area.

i don't know that we'll be able to afford to meals out because we're working with a somewhat limited budget, but i will definitely look into the satire lounge...that sounds divine :9

3. Question: Are you dead?
Because if you are, there are lots of things to do in Denver!

6. Dunno. Never seen it, either.
Just thought it would make for one of my signature arch comments. :-)

5. I voted Art Museum.
My friend just went to one of the botanical gardens in Denver last weekend, and she says it wasn't nearly as nice as others she's been to. Just passing it along.

DO enjoy the Cure concert, and take lots of pictures!

I'm so jealous.

8. thanks for the info
it's been about a million years since i've been to the garden, but if it's not that nice, i don't think it'll be worth the money.

the show is going to be even more awesome than i originally thought because another couple with whom we are very good friends were able to score some tickets :bounce:

i am hoping to borrow a camera from someone for the show. i've got my own, but it's old and kind of cumbersome and i don't want anything that's not going to fit in my pocket

12. I know what you mean
Ball yards are... there's something magical about 'em.

I've always loved getting there early, during BP and before the place fills up. The sound of bat hitting ball has more of an echo, and somehow the grass looks even greener.
