And thats an inappropriate question. I have men in my family not much taller than jockeys. This is very offensive post as both a horse lover and a person with short people in my family. oh yeah and I know horse people. I wish people wouldn't post this kind of tripe.
Have high pitched voices many times. Most of these guys have gone into the business BECAUSE they are short. Its like asking what did the seven foot tall basketball take to make them that tall. Believe me being a jock is a hard life and nobody plans on it by screwing with their height (and there is no way I can think of to stunt growth that would make one healthy and atheletic enough to ride..these guys are STRONG)
4. i do apologize if you found that to be offensive . . .
it wasn't meant to be in any way.
when i hear the jockeys speak - it makes me think back to stories of the female gymnists and suspicions regarding their training. Seems like the opposite of *steroid* scandals that we hear about.
One of the reasons this bothers me is that some parents when faced with the knowledge of having a much shorter than average child put theeir kids through just awful treatments..bone lengthening, Growth hormone..etc. Its very depressing. Being that short isn't that bad
i remember viewing some program years ago regarding bone lengthening - i shudder to think of the pain that entails - plus the outrageousness of parents who refuse to view their child as *normal* to begin with.
this particular *venue* - threads, e-mails, etc. doesn't allow us to hear intonations in people's voices - it's difficult to read black & white print and really determine what the person is saying (or trying to say) apology accepted - i hope mine is as well.
To get a horse person, is it the mother or the father that has to be the horse? I know one way makes horse people and the other way makes people horses, but I forget which is which. Call me dumb, but I just never remember this book-learning sorta stuff.
