Yellow squash is the best for this, slice it thin and fry like chicken.

Really good.

We had some today.

1. I've never had it
but I can almost guarantee that if you made up a batch of it, I'd eat the whole damn lot. So, get going! I'm a gluttonous pig, but I'm very thankful for my home-cookin' gluttony.

2. It is good.
Also cheap to make and feeds a lot of people.

The best way is fry it in a deep fryer so it cooks fast.

I couldn't cook it fast enough yesterday.

3. what kind of coating/breading do you put on it?
Friend chicken in my family is coated in a pretty simple flour and spices powder. Do you mean to put that on the squash, or something more like a thick liquid-y batter made with milk/eggs/etc.? (either way, I'm going to try this).

4. Just flour and egg.
Slice the squash thin, frys better.

I uses salt and pepper for seasoning.

Now this is important have two bowls, one for flour and one for eggs.

Dip the slices in the flour first, then egg, and then flour.

It doesn't take long to fry, just a few minutes.

Enjoy.

6. Hey you back.
It has been a long time since we talked Heidi.

Thought I would share a good southern way to cook squash, goes great with ice tea.

Just getting back to working order again, my knee has been unhappy for over a month now.

So how have you been doing.

7. Never tried it
But it sounds wonderful! Yellow squash is one of my favorite veggies. I make a killer yellow squash casserole: the secret is a pinch of saffron in the rice.

10. Yummmmmmmm
fried squash. Cornmeal, a little flour, some salt and pepper, some egg. Mix. Coat squash. Fry.

You can do the same thing with okra. Yummmmmmmmm.

And polk stalks.

12. beer batter is the best!
take a 12 oz can of cheap beer
mix with 2 cups of flour, let sit at room temp for about an hour.

dip veggies in it and fry in deep oil

preheat oven to 450 and line a roasting pan with paper towels, and drain the veggies on the paper towels, return to warm oven to hold. They will stay crispy until you get the rest fried.

this is great for onion rings, eggplant, okra, squash, pickles. whatever you like to fry.
