6. Hedy Lamarr
Hedy Lamarr (November 9, 1913 – January 19, 2000) was an Austrian-born American actress. Though known primarily for her great beauty and her successful film career, she also co-invented an early form of spread spectrum encoding, a key to modern wireless communication.

The early version of frequency hopping spread spectrum used a piano roll to change between 88 frequencies and was intended to make radio-guided torpedoes harder for enemies to detect or jam.

Not only is she a member of the brilliant British band, Ladytron (whose album “Witching Hour” I consider to be a must-listen for all of you), but she is also a model. Oh, and she also has a PHD in Genetics from Oxford University.

Queen of the universe. Smart girls scare guys. And Natalie Portman knows it...

The 20-year-old actress is a junior at Harvard, a straight-A student (she reportedly aced her SATs while appearing on Broadway in "The Diary of Anne Frank") who sprinkles her conversation with phrases such as "social Darwinism" and "interdependent sense of self" and knows more about Kant than Cannes.

Part of what makes anyone beautiful is their intelligence, don't you think?

Someone can be good-looking, but if they sound stupid when they speak, then their good looks vanish...

IMHO, of course...
