Dear Mr Skinner, I would like the following

1) New smilies/emoticons, many of them are obsolete and badly in need of a face lift

2) The ability to see which members are online, that's a feature most boards have.

3) The ability to preview a thread by rolling over it. This is another message board feature that is really helpful. It helps members see if it's worth clicking into a topic

4) The ability to see recent posts made by another member. This is also a standard of most message boards. If there is a member who's posts you enjoy, you are able to look them over.

5) A pony, I would like a pony. A brown one, would be my first choice, but any color would do.

Sometimes people like to lurk in privacy.
And with stalking as well as there being several hundred duers online at once it would be an eyesore to list them all.
I like the pony though. And 1 and 3 would be nice

2. I like 3 a lot

As mentioned above, I think 4 would lead to problems with thread-stalking.

I also want a user-preference to go directly to the DU search page when you click the search icon. The google search is useless for my purposes, and it's just an extra click to go to the real search. Also, the simple search shouldn't include ALL the groups and forums in the popdown list, such as the state forums. That popup list is just unmanageable. Make people used advanced search for the few times they have to search the minor forums.

And the pony should fly. Definitely a flying pony.

When you vote in a poll twice, the link on the page that says you already voted should bring you back to the thread and not to the previous page which is the confirm-your-vote page. You can get stuck in that loop forever if you're not careful.
