9. They can be, especially this time of year
when the mothers are having calves. The Fish & Game folks say a mama moose can be as dangerous as a grizzly bear. This one is young but not newborn obviously. We didn't see his mother anywhere around.

Les Stroud claims that a bullmoose in rut is the most dangerous animal on the continent.

I've never been north of CHI, but he seems to know his stuff.

I know I get cranky when interrupted...

Great foto, tx! I get an occasional whitetail in my yard, but moose are marvelous creatures & I'd love to see a wild one up close (as long as he wasn't courting)

12. Our city moose are fairly human-friendly
but I still get nervous around the adults. We frequently come across them when we're out on our walks...we just walk by r-e-a-l-l-y slowly and try to blend into our surroundings.
