1. You might have to subdivide further.
Some of the series had distinct sections that were different from other ones... for instance, DS9 started out pretty good, then got real crappy at the end. :P

16. Ditto for TNG:
Season 1 = "TOS wannabe"
Season 2 = "TNG with McCoy copycat"
Season 3 and 4 = "TNG personified"
Season 5 = "We ran out of ideas"
Season 6 = "We are still out of ideas"
Season 7 = "Well, it's the end but we remembered what made seasons 2-4 worked, even if we don't have Ron Jones to score them..."

Never mind DS9 onward had McCoy copycats and nobody cared... (I'm a devout follower of Dr Pulaski; pit "Unnatural Selection" vs Dr Crusher's appalling "Ethics" and one can see why Q would turn Crusher into a loud, obnoxious barking dog in "True Q"...)

2. The one where fans starting using the show's premise for writing our sex fantasies.
That's got to be the very definition of a "best show"

3. TOS and DS9 for totally different reasons.
DS9 was, once it hit it's stride, thoughtful and complex. TOS was goofy and fun. They're both great at what they're trying to do, but the atmosphere is so different it's kind of hard to compare TOS with anything from NextGen on.

So of the spin-offs, DS9 is the best (though the best individual episodes come from NextGen) and TOS is uniquely great.

5. Even Enterprise had a nugget of gold here and there IMO.
Although I certainly wouldn't call it the best by any stretch of the imagination. :)

6. I never got into it.
I watched the first epi, heard the them song, was like "is that Bryan Adams? What the fuck?" and and never really watched it after that.

7. Heh, yeah, the theme was annoying. Catchy, but annoying.
But it had the guy from Quantum Leap in it, so that made it okay.

Seriously though, from what I gathered, the first couple seasons that I didn't see much of sucked, but the end got pretty decent. But by that time everybody had given up on it.

11. OG, baby.
"Star Trek" is the one true Trek. All other Treks are false Treks.

13. I voted for Enterprise mainly because it shouldn't be losing to Voyager.

15. Kirk wins all, but
as much as I prefer TNG's foray into real sci-fi over Voyager's (and thus should give Captain Picard an accolade), Captain Janeway's self-righteous personality is rather better than Picard's "stick up his butt" motif... :D

I could never stand DS9, though the first bloc of 4th season episodes ("Way of the Warrior" through "Little Green Men") were very good... I recall the one where Sisko's son has to save him due to a warp bubble anomaly -- a rewrite of TNG season 4's "Remember Me", only done with more punch. I usually don't care for plot re-hashes as such, but "The Visitor" ROCKED. Hated "Starship Down" (paltry rewrite of the disastrous TNG episode, aptly named "Disaster"...)

Voyager was the "reverse TOS" as they are going home and everybody argued, but they had quite a few good moments... just not as many as TOS and TNG...

18. TNG was better overall
Some of the FX for TOS are pretty cheesy, but I'd rank it second.

21. How about "None of the above"?
OK -- it was really the original, but after nearly 40 years, I'm pretty much over the whole thing.
