Indiana Jones IV is only slightly less disappointing than The Phantom Menace was
And that's in large measure due to the fact that Jar Jar wasn't in Indy4.

I was one of six people in the theater for the 2:15 showing, by the way.

2. Salon is obviously on crack
It's far and away the weakest of the four films. Some good elements here and there, but overall it's a lousy follow-up to the trilogy.

4. That's the right way to do it
You won't run screaming away from the tv, but you'll definitely be wondering who green-lighted the damned film.

5. But - but - but - it's got Shia Lebeouf!
For all the teeny-boppers!

6. I'm told that the powers-that-be have annointed him The Next Big Thing. Okay, I guess.
Actually, he wasn't half-bad in the role.

It's a pity that the movie itself was such a turd. Still, it'll make a brazillion at the box office, and I'm sure it'll look good on Shia's resume.

7. That bad, eh?
I know the MSM says the economy propels people into the movie theaters, but I'm more inclined to think people aren't watching an umpteenth sequel to a series dug up solely because it was popular once a generation or two ago because nothing will come from it.

8. The key is:
always have low expectations.

Then you'll never be disappointed.

12. Oh, I meant that I'd rent it
One of the few times I watch movies is when I'm with my family around christmas - I don't have a DVD player myself.

10. I was at the midnight showing, premiere...and I have to tell you I couldn't
WAIT to get the fuck OUT of the theater, it was so...fucking....BAD

Even ( get this ) the ACTING sucked! They made the characters so bland, you didn't even give a shit when Indiana was on screen...they only made him out to be a bumbling, hapless old fart...and I see they are trying to make Shia LeBouef's ( sp ) character out to be the next Indiana Jones. In....their...fucking....DREAMS! I HATED this movie!!! It was very boring, too...they were driving around running from people you knew they were going to get away from. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? there wasn't any god-damned kingdom!!!!! The whole thing ended up to be about aliens!!! ALIENS!!!! FOR FUCK SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was no humorous parts ( like there were in the first three...although I must confess I did NOT care for the Temple of Doom...it was just plain silliness ). The lines that were supposed to be funny just weren't..they fell completely flat on their face. The story dragged on and on and on....you were finding yourself waiting for something INTERESTING to happen, and that just DOES NOT HAPPEN in an Indiana Jones movie!!! There is ALWAYS action, of some sort....

This was a huge disappointment.......

13. Thanks for the enthusiastic review.
They tried and tried to bring Sean Connery back. From the sounds of it, he made the right move by staying in Scotland.

I think I'll spare my Netflix queue.
