That was effen brilliant!!!!!!!
My neck has really been bothering me (3 vertebral joints without much disc material left, herniated anteriorally along with spurs that impinge my cervical spinal nerves and cause pain) so I get out my $600 :grr: traction machine that my physical therapist sold me and said "sure your insurance will cover it" and they paid about $100 on it, so it's my $500 machine. Lay on it at a fairly low tension I thought for about 15 min and then I could hardly get off the damned thing and it hurtz more now than it did before. My doctor asked me why I don't like to use it :eyes: for this very effen reason.

Give me some drugs... NOW!!!!!

:(

1. Don't give up on it too soon. If the Doctor thinks it will help
give it a chance. Some therapies hurt a bit, before it gets better.

2. I know, I did this before
and it got better

then I quit

I used to do it in the therapists office but then insurance said that I could do it at home

they paid big bucks for the therapist to turn on the switch twice a week and put the band around my head and set the tension

then they didn't want to pay for the home version, which isn't quite as fancy

but it isn't letting up right this minute

5. Dang. $600, what's it made of?!
I was sold this $30 affair that gets strung up on a wall, I lower a plastic bag full of water, and NOT look like the person on the instruction manual, who happens to be smiling in this thing.

6. Heheh
my back's been blown for 3 months, and the bf got me an inversion table, which SHOULD help. Problem is, it hurts for me to actually get on it and into position, so I've only used it a couple of times. I'm gonna have to suck it up and use it, though - I think it WILL help if I can just get past the painful part.

8. Yeah, sounds painful but I've never tried one
might have been a better investment than this

of course

I didn't know how much this was going to cost until I'd had it for a while :P

7. I'll trade you a handful of Darvocet and a half bottle of tequila...
if you strap ME into your torture traction device!

I used to hang upside down in a contraption for 15 minutes every day, ahhhh. I miss it!

12. man that sucks
One of my best friends has major back/neck problems and has tried every type of device you can get. The only thing that helps at all (besides multiple surgery) is the full length body pillow he sleeps with..Sorry to hear about this SPK, really there is nothing worse than back and neck pain, IMHO.....
