1. Can't tell you what kind of a cat it is
but you are a wonderful person for taking it in and loving it! :loveya:

(We've got a momma and three kittens on our sun porch right now - and two of the three of us are allergic!)

3. my kitteh doesn't think I am so wonderful right now
he has been hiding all day.

I thought he was fine because he slept on our bed all night long and the new kitteh slept in a different room...

here is my spooky cat

4. Congrats!! Suggestions for socializing with your cat:
Keep new cat in a room by her/himself for about a week. Obviously with food/water/litter box. Let him/her get used to the surroundings and establish a "safe zone". There will be a LOT of curiousity between the rooms, but just let it. After a week, slowly integrate. Let new kitty out for a few hours at a time when you can be with them. Put new kitty back in the room when you aren't home. After a little while, they'll likely become buds. Easing into it helped my 2 become pals.

Here's our 2 love-bugs:

8. I think if you introduce them slowly they will. I was given that advice by many and it worked.
Enjoy!

6. Also good to keep them separated until you can get new kitty to the vet
You wouldn't want to spread any illness or disease to Spooky.

They are both beautiful!

11. There's definitely a bit of Maine Coon in that cat
The bushy tail, the ruff around the neck, the fuzzy feet. One of my kittehs is part Maine Coon, and she
s similar to your new friend.

15. I think you're right.
I had an orange one like that one time. He had the sweetest disposition and I've heard that's another characteristic of Maine Coon's. All the cats I've had were foundlings, but if I was ever to "buy" a cat it would be a Maine Coon. Everything I've ever heard about them was good.

23. Brianna is a big, sweet, Daddy's Girl
It's funny how this big cat has a chirpy little voice (and boy, does she like to use it). She loves to hang out and snuggle, and follows me around looking for attention.

12. That's an "INSIGHTFUL GENIUS" cat, it is!
Out of the six billion talking monkeys on this planet, it adopted you.
That's a smart cat right there!

Lot's of cats have done worse.
Heck, I'm, supposed to pretty smart for a talking monkey, and I've done worse more than once!

(Beautiful cat, BTW.)

14. Try looking here:
http://www.cfa.org/breeds.html

I was able to identify my adopted kitty as a Norwegian Forest Cat from the descriptions there. :)

Mah Kitteh,

20. THanks for posting the site
my cat has a lot of Chartreux...down to hair and eye colouring and the body description is spot on. He is built like a brick. When I adopted him, they said his name was Timmy. I took one look at him and immediatly called him Sampson (Sammy). Biggest damn cat I have ever had. And has that chirping meow. I called him my cajun cat because I can't have any cajun food without him attacking the plate. And Lord will he ever go after Mardi Gras beads. I figured he was a NOLA refugee or something. Thanks for helping me solve yet another mystery about my baby.

we think she is about a year old and NFC's reach maturity at around five years. If her feet are anything to go by, she's going to be *enormous*...:scared:
Great mouser though.:D

16. daughter (who hates cats) has decided her name is Shadow and it has the honor of sleeping
on her waterbed...since it has no claws

I would say that this cat is a winner of hearts

my daughter who gave me spooky for my birthday calls him IT and hates him. He is NOT allowed in her room and if he tries to sit near her, she moves...

but she hasn't put this new cat down
