Not necessarily "worse" than my 2001-era iMac running Firefox...
but it's sure as hell DIFFERENT!

Thank G*D I'm drunk off my ass, or I might be a bit annoyed.

2. I wouldn't even DARE to think about it.
They just spent 2 days with a MASTER Google-employee
getting their 5 PC's all synched up and running smooth...

I was half afraid that I'd screw something up just logging onto DU from here.
Tinkering with their system? Fuggedaboudit!

3. Installing a program wouldn't harm the setup.
Though I know what you mean in some respect. My dad's girlfriend is really uptight whenever I do something on her computer even though she knows that I've been using computers almots my whole life and that I work with computers.

4. Sweetie's folks have an ASSLOAD of "best-of-the-best" electronics all over their house.
5 PCs, a couple laptops, a satellite box and 2 70-inch flatscreens,
an industrial-sized fax/printer/copier...and they've got it all networked.

Just about the only thing that ISN'T tied into their household LAN
is their microwave oven, and that's just a matter of time!

But there's always something that "isn't quite working right" with the system.

Every time I visit, they have to tell me "Don't use that remote control right now",
or "don't use that PC to websurf"...

I can't even keep track of which PC is "OK" to surf the web with; so there's no way
I'd ever try downloading & installing new software.

I wreak havok on their liquor cabinet, and they're cool with that...
so I'm happy to leave their computers unimproved.
