new addition to my family....
the question is; what kind of monster would drop off a momma kitty and four babies in a public parking lot????
we found them yesterday, at my husband's place of business....wasn't looking for another pet, but look at that face!!!

1. Are you keeping the whole crew?
If not, I hope they all found good homes such as yours! That Lil thing is the cutest baby ! I'm jealous!

2. no, we only took this one....
others were taking the babies...one guy had a farm and took two of them.
the only thing I'm not sure about is the momma....my hubby didn't work today, so I haven't heard, I may have to drive around looking for her if no one took her home.

3. I bet it would be a good thing to have Mom & her kitten live with you!
I took in a couple (two) pregnant dogs & kept all the pups who lived. It has been a very interesting experience. No house training required, no need to correct the pups. Momma did it all.

4. hey that's awesome...
and way admirable!! how many pups total?

the momma cat had already taught this baby how to do the kitty litter thing. all we did was put her in the box and she knew what to do! I'm hoping the momma cat made it to the farm with the other two kittens. I hate to think of her out in the wild without her babies....I'll find out tomorrow.

7. Only three pups survived...

Moe, Curly & Larry.

I don't know why the others didn't survive. Moe's mom was very young & it was her first litter (LAST one too as she was spayed as soon as he was weened). She is the pup from a previous litter of the other Mom dog. They both arrived here two weeks before they had the pups (along with the pups dad). I adopted three & ended up with six.

10. They have a lot of room to roam.
I used to allow them to run until they got into the habit of greeting me up at the gate on the road when I got home. Now they are confined in a five acre area around my house.

I try to have fun with pet names, they really don't know what the name means so they don't get offended. These two cats are a prime example.

Flea Taxi & his brother Chairman Meow. I found them as kittens alongside the road, they are sweet little guys.

12. Flea Taxi!!!!!!!!
that cracks me up!!! and five acres is hardly "confined"!! they are lucky, lucky dogs!

I think my best pet names were Inky (black cat) and Gesso (white cat--it means white paint) but not as good as flea taxi.

oh, I have a small dog, a Shiba Inu (japanese breed) his name is Mushu Samurai....and you're right, they have no idea....

funny!

11. luck to the mama kitty!
Oh I hope someone there is caring for her. This is horrible to be dumped off with your babies and then scared away

I just cannot believe how awful people can be.. they couldn't even take them to an animal shelter? this makes me sick.

14. yeah...I'm not sure why someone would do that..
I've been trying to figure out if someone dumped her when she was pregnant, or dummped her and the kitties recently...they were in the parking lot in a rural area (living in some bushes), so I'm not sure how long they'd been there.
I'm not sure how old this little kitty is, she couldn't eat food (we've been feeding her milk w/a dropper) but that could be just because she's never been given food...

I'm 99% sure the momma cat made it to the farm w/her two babies. My husband hasn't come home from work yet, but when I talked to him today on the phone he was pretty sure of it.

20. this sounds good then
And the kitten looks just old enough to make it alright without her mommy as long as she has soft kitten food or something. She's really sweet! :loveya:

6. What a cute lil kitten
I hope you find that someone took the mama. I'm at my "pick up stray limit" for this house. I've taken in a cat my son couldn't take and a pup we found along a busy highway. The alpha cat who has been here since day 1, only pet in the household for 7 years, has done some major adjusting..grudgingly lol

9. cats are funny.
I had a cat that had been with me since college and we picked up a stray after we got married. they hated each other, everyone said that they'd learn to get along eventually...but 15 years together and they STILL hated each other! oh well. (the last one died last spring, she was 18--so I guess it's time for a new kitty.)
