my Blockbuster didn't have Three Days of The Condor
Can you imagine that shit? It shouldn't even call itself a video store. I know I rented if from there before. They must have lost it or something. I was looking forward to rewatching it.

1. I didn't think I would like it, Wetz, but I really like Netflix.
They let you do a trial and they have an incredible inventory with really quick turn around. I have the 3 movie package.

9. I get the 3 movie package from Blockbuster
I like being able to exchange movies at the store for more. I also get stuff from the library, they're awesome too.

2. Do you do the Blockbuster online thing?

Seems they can send you just about anything... it's like Netflix. But then the neat thing is, you can return the movie to a store, and get one for free. :hi:

7. yes, I was hoping to pick the movie while I exchanged my latest ones
I hate ordering single movies online, because I typically get different series and things like that. If I get a movie in there it might break up a set or say I won't get the whole series or most of the series at once. I can't take the suspense of waiting for another dvd if it leaves off on something good. I get lots of stuff from the library too, I might have to see if they have it.

5. Heck, we tried to get "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" from BB a few years back, and they
didn't carry it. They tend to carry a zillion copies of all the recent crap and not much else.

8. yes I was going to quit Blockbuster
and even BB online until they started letting you bring back movies and exchange them for ones in the store. Couldn't pass up that deal. Online is pretty good though, they have tons of stuff. I'm a film snob too, so I find all kinds of good stuff online that they don't have in the store.

6. It took forever, but I tracked down and bought the DVD
Great classic Redford flick. Worth looking for, and it's especially appropriate for these modern times.

10. I just signed up with Netflix, and I have 223 disks in my queue already
They not only have all the recent movies and the classic and tons of foreign and indie movies but also a lot of old TV series that I didn't even know were out on DVD.

11. yeah I do all the tv series stuff in my BB queue
BB lets you exchange your movies for more when you go to the store, so I get the recent ones like that. But online is what I like because I can get certain series and documentaries etc. I have probably 150 or so in my queue, I think. I used to have more but I whittled away at a lot of them in the last several months. It gets addicting adding all the things you can think of, lol.

12. Technically I've seen that movie.
But the VHS tape was so badly degraded that I could only see and hear about half of what was going on.

So I have no clue what the frick that movie was about. :P

13. ahh VHS
I remember my parents getting a beta player when I was young. We had laser discs too. Good times.

Yeah the movie has a few turns anyway, I bet it would be tough to figure out if you couldn't even see what was going on. :)

23. The same thing can be said for Yellow Submarine.
And that's even harder to follow when you can't hear the dialogue, I think. :)

19. yeah my first few months after I moved from MT to Seattle were rough
I thought the elevator in my apartment building was an outhouse. I didn't know any better. That and everytime I would pump the faucet in my sink it would break. :) Now in Tucson, I am worldly now. If I could only stop saying "fer" and "nukular" I'd be pretty good.

we ride the same bus too. We never met up though. I'm kind of reclusive. Planning world domination and stuff. Plus running my presidential campaign. And I just started up my gang, the Grape Slushies. We're gonna be big, you should join up.

22. I'm not at all surprised
I used to work at a Hollywood Video. We had a way better selection than Blockbuster, and there were loads of things we didn't have. A few years ago, my girlfriend and her dad went to a Blockbuster to rent some James Bond movies, and found out that they don't carry them! They only stocked the ones from the past few years. ugh... I've only known of a few really good video stores anywhere, and they're all independent.

24. The local public library has a huge selection of older films, minor classics,
foreign films.. you name it. The catch: Many of them are on video, and the videos (as well as some DVDs) aren't categorized as well as books, so one has to search... but I've been able to see some films that I've never seen offered anywhere else. Places like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video are great if one wants to see new releases of mainstream films (emphasis on 'mainstream').

25. maybe there has been a run on Sidney Pollack movies since he died.
I hate BB and our Hollywood is closed. Guess I will start renting from the grocery store when I want to rent something.

although I am thinking of cancelling all my movie channels and replacing them with Netflix
