Manchurian Candidate movie fans...
The '62 Sinatra version was on last night. Hadn't seen it since the rights were cleared up back in the 80's.
I was wondering, were Sen. Jordan (John McGiver) and Sen. Iceland (James Gregory) in the same party? Did the movie mention any party names?

1. I always thought so, b/c they were going to be
at the same convention at the end, right? That is, if Sen. Jordan hadn't been killed. Good question though.

3. I think that's what threw me off this time.
It just seems so odd to think of the parties ever having such extreme liberal and conservative branches.

4. Yeah, same here...But wasn't the reason they killed Jordan
that he was planning to stop Iselin from getting the VP nom at the convention (and then he would get the top slot once Raymond killed the Presidential nominee)?

I love that flick. Never saw the new one.

Angela Lansbury was only 3 years older than Lawrence Harvey in real life, but played his mother in the movie.

6. I guess she's one of those people who looked old even when they were young.
