I enjoyed the heck out of "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull" and I tried to find
the original post put in a few days ago by someone else who said the same thing, couldn't find it
but I at least TRIED.

It was fun, just like it is supposed to be.
Lots of car chases and impossible fight stunts, as is required
Excellent traps in the umm objective so as not to give away spoilers for those who have not seen it yet...one of my favorite things about Indiana Jones movies would be the traps.

good fun.

If I want serious cinema I go to the Art Film series at the Modern Art Museum.

3. you might want to just ask "WHY" they didn't like it. Look it is supposed to be
silly outrageous fun. It is supposed to have certain things to qualify:
a snake joke or two
ridiculously scary car chases
ancient stuff with traps, ingenious ones
whip tricks
at least three escapes only to get caught again

what's not to like?

Go
it is fun
If you liked the others, you will enjoy this one and it deserves to be seen on big screen. Some movies just need to be seen on big screen at least once.

9. I haven't seen it yet, but
it seems to me that a lot of the people who didn't like it - especially those who advertise the fact that they didn't like it (this is true for a lot of movies) - are either 1)going with serious expectations that weren't met or 2)cynics

And as for the "get real!" factor ... if your expecting reality, you seriously need to be somewhere else.

thats my 2 cents worth.

5. It was good fun if you ask me
although at one point in the movie, one of my friends with me at the movie said to the screen, "oh come on, give me a break!". :eyes:

also, 30 minutes of previews! :boring: :banghead:

and the audience liked it enough to not be yakking on their cell phones and talking to each other throughout the movie, so there's that.

6. It's friggin' BRILLIANT. Those who didn't like it should seek therapy.
Perhaps after years of proper counseling, they could recover. If not, at least get them off the streets before they hurt someone else.

Most critics liked it, but my favorite negative criticism was that it didn't live up to the original series because it was too supernatural, and implausible... Trying to remember the last time I saw the Ark of the Covenant turn a squad of Nazis into dust...

8. Yeah, well, when the supernatural stuff crosses genre lines...
I don't want ghosts and the wrath of God in my Star Trek, and I don't want... well... nevermind.

7. I like the Indiana Jones as borderline superhero thing
If spectacular things didn't happen in these movies then what fun would they be? If I wanted to see real life I could always go watch a Woody Allen film. That being said, there were a few corny sequences that I probably would have chopped out. But overall I had a fun time at the movies.

10. It got a passing grade from me up until the last 15 minutes. (spoilerish)
I can take the overly broad characterizations and the implausible action sequences (which I actually love) but the resolution was about as bad as it gets.

The protagonists essentially have zero impact on how things get resolved. It had all the drama of a theme park ride. Very disappointing finish to what was a nice little period action piece.

I liked it, I really did. But that ending was unbelievably flat. Can't believe there wasn't a re-write to add some meaning to it.
