Can you get sick from eating too many baby carrots/
We're going to dinner with our neighbors and they like to eat later than we normally do. I'm eating baby carrots because I seriously started Weight Watchers and they are 0 points.

10. Sick? Probably not... But you WILL be able to see through space and time very soon.
You will see wonders to lift your spirit, and terrors to chill your soul.

Also, you'll turn orange.

12. My youngest brother turned orange for a week...
but he literally ate his body weight in carrots. He was a small child and 2 or 3 at the time.

It freaked my mother out...she kept taking him to the hospital convinced it was jaundice.

20. I saw it and we all cracked up.
He's 22 now and has never lived down half the stuff in his childhood. He's got it really bad...both Danno (My other brother) and I are aspiring writers/essayists (I'm also a poet but he doesn't really make a good poetry subject.) and he's a favorite target/subject.

13. never happened to me. Carrots, apples and the handy bottle of water
are your greatest allies if you are doing WW.

I have done the baby carrot pre meal many times.

and good on you for joining WW

are you doing Monthly Pass? You should be, it is the cheepest way and you get Etools free

Good Luck

18. yes! I am doing monthly pass.
It works well because I have a credit card that will stay 0% as long as I make 1 charge a month, so WW is it!

Thanks for the encouragement! I did grad school and worked a few challenging part-time jobs over the past 3 years and ended up gaining quite a bit of weight. I'm giving myself a year to take it off.

19. good job. Now your WW leaders will help you with this.
I started out with 1 year to get it off, well it took longer but by the time that first year closed, I had lost so much that I KNEW I would make my goal it was just going to take a bit longer.

So I would counsel you to not be too rigid about 1 year. Slower is healthier and success at keeping it off is better if you are slower in taking it off. You may on the other hand, lose it faster, who knows? Just don't stop the program if you aren't at goal in 1 year. You are doing this to learn how to Eat for Life .

That first 10% really makes a difference in how you feel, so treasure your 10% award when you get it.

I was so NOT a "WW Nazi" or I would have lost it faster. But somehow all my mindset was right to do this in very small goals.

If you get on a plateau, one thing to consider is that your body has put itself on maintainance for a while. Graph your weekly weigh in on etools and you can see the trend of your personal weight loss pattern. I realized that I would drop, drop , drop. Then regain a tiny bit, then lose that and do the up a pound down a pound bit, then just flat line for a bit then start over with the drop, drop drop. When I realized that was just my pattern, it all just clicked for me and I refused to get upset about any aspect of the program.

Now I am Lifetime and I lost 60 pounds. went from size 18P to 8P. Went on a road trip with my husband right after I made Lifetime, and got stuck in lots of places where the right stuff just wasn't there. I KNEW I was way over points so when I got home, I went back to the point level for weight loss and when I went to weigh last week I was well within the place for my Lifetime limit. That to me is the beauty of the plan. I can so live with this.

There is a Weight Loss Forum on DU and you can PM me anytime

cheers to you!!!!!

I am more than willing to take more time, but if I lost 5 pounds a month, I'd be great. Still, if I don't make it, I'll keep on!

I'm adding you to my buddy list! I may take you up on the PM!

26. You could get carotenemia, but it's not harmful.

Add some tomatoes and get lycopenemia, for more of an orange color.
