God, I suck.

We have a lab-rottweiler mix, 3 years old - his name's Foster.



In the last two days he's been getting into the garbage and trying to steal food wherever it's left around. We've been pretty annoyed with him.

Well, this morning I got up and looked outside to see an empty dog food bag shredded in the back yard. And that's when it hit me.

See, my wife went to the ER and then was in the hospital for what they believe to be a brown recluse spider bite. Just before all that happened, my stepson had noticed that Foster's food was getting low and wanted to feed him. (We use a big self-feeder) I didn't want him to make a mess so I said I'd do it after I got home from work - but then the ER thing happened.

I was WONDERING why he actually took a dog biscuit that I offered him and ate it last night. Usually he is completely uninterested and I toss it on the floor, and he eats it at some later time.

Poor puppy. (He'll always be a puppy to me)

At least you figured it out now and not next week. :hug:

Be sure to spoil him with some extra attention. My guess is that he senses the stress and can use a little extra love.
