What a relief...
I haven't been able to write any poetry in some weeks...

Tonight, the logjam seems to have lifted...

And I am writing...

The words are there again

They thrash and bang till I let them out!

I hate it when I cannot write...

3. My dear CreekDog!
Aw, sweetie...you're too kind!

It might have some poetic elements, but really, I can't consider it a poem...

Trust me, the poetry does stop, and then I'm in trouble!

Thanks, sweetie...

2. Sometimes when you are passionate about something
It's best to walk away when you can't find it, for eventually it will come back and find you.

4. My dear JackBeck!
That might be true...

For me, I find the words come most easily when I'm being OTT emotionally....

It doesn't matter what: happy, sad, loving, whatever...

It seems as though there has to be a lot of emotion.

5. I'm glad it is flowing for you again, Peg....
...For myself, I sometimes find that reading a little philosophy seems to bring me back to poetry. But, I'm glad you're back to banging it out...

9. Some advice when that happens
Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 01:30 AM by khashka
Write "I can not think of anything to write" Over and over. You'll get so bored you'll think of the right words just to stop doing it. Sounds silly but it works. Also play with forms of poetry. The more difficult the better. The result doesn't have to be good or anything you want someone to see. But it can inspire you. But I've told you that before.
