Would you sell your soul to save a family member's life?

1. If it was my son's life, yes.
If it was my brother's, or older sister's, then no.

10. Watching "Ghost Rider"
It's not ever clear, but it appears to be the devil/satan.

34. In the comics, it's 'Mephisto'...the Marvel equivalent of the Devil...
who isn't *quite* the Devil, but something close.

3. I've never been clear on the whole concept of selling one's soul.
So, without some clarification before the transaction, I'd have to say "no".

7. I've always viewed it as
being willing to defy one's most sacred beliefs. But I guess many interpret it as exchanging all hope of a pleasant afterlife.

26. I tend to be agnostic about an afterlife, or at least any clarity about it.
But, if it saved my dad's life, I guess I'd do it. My siblings, well, they'd be on their own.

6. Absolutely.
Because I would, instinctively, make a huge fucking problem out of it and then having gotten Soul Title Insurance, I'd file a claim which would ultimately default my soul back to me while still having saved that person's life.

I'm a leverage weasel.

35. Spirit is by definition unknowable. That's where evangelicals get it wrong

The talk about salvation in terms of having an
experience of the holy spirit entering them.

Experience occurs in the material world. Spiritual
experience is completely subjective. Since other
subjects can't have your experiences, they must
take your word for your claim that the 'spirit'
has entered you.

Christians are stuck with a metaphysics of bi-substance
dualism. The gulf between the spiritual/mental realm
and the material/objective realm is a riddle that
philosophy can't solve. You are a either a materialist
and an atheist or an idealist and a theist.

Those are the choices.

18. what do you mean? Like, to Satan?
of course not. if there were a god/heaven and a satan/hell, the choice would be everlasting torment for me vs. that family member experiencing the afterlife a few years early. That'd be a dumb deal.

28. Until somebody gives me good reason to believe that souls exist, mine's going cheap.
There are a lot of things I'd sacrifice for the two people I love most, if that's what you're really asking.
