3. Let me guess...

...you're very much under 30?

Nothing wrong with retreating for a bit once in a while and recharging.

4. Yes indeed--and sometimes you even can.
But most times, you have to stagger out of bed, suck down enough caffeine to make you credible, grin and bear the rest of the day, and then go home to the couch, a beer and some comfort food, just to sort out how you are going to go to bed again and start the whole deal over the next day.

Hang in there. I think everybody goes through that kind of period. But staying in bed, absent the flu or unspeakable grief, isn't helpful--it gets worse. So do what you have to do, and just remind yourself--"I could have been in bed, but I'm doing what I have to do." That way, you recognize your accomplishment--you tried. Maybe nobody knows but you what it took to get you up and moving--but if you at least do, you can appreciate yourself.

5. Yeah, I know... and I thank you for the advice.
I'm just upset at the moment because it looks like my living situation is falling apart. I've been living at my current place less than three months and it already looks like the arrangement is falling apart and that I might have to move out. I'm really not keen on moving again, but at this point it seems like there might not be another option. It's not like I WANT to live alone in a tiny little box of an apartment, but that may be what's coming up for me.

It's all pathetic stuff to be upset about, I know, but it's just so frustrating. I thought this arrangement could work and at this moment it feels like a complete nightmare... and there's still nine months left on the lease.

Don't mind me, really. I'll be fine in a day or two... I just wanted to have a little pity party for myself tonight...

Thank you again.

6. Not that anyone cares, but...
Seems like my roommates have already made up their minds. They don't want me here anymore, so I guess I WILL be moving out.

Not that it matters. I might as well be talking to myself here, so I'll keep my concerns and problems to myself from now on.

7. nah, you can come climb into bed with me and we can comiserate together
I'm in the exact same mood and dreading the fact that I have to work 7 more hours before I can go crawl back under my covers again.

15. Sounds like a plan!
I'm actually looking forward to work today, just so I can get out of the apartment. Of course, since it's Friday night, I'll hopefully be out with friends as well, so that will help me escape some more. Still, this whole situation has me upset. Hopefully some relaxation this weekend will help with all that stress...

10. I take it that you are young?

There are plenty of days that some of us feel that way. Especially when life disappoints us, and it usually will when we least expect it to. There is only one real way to deal with your situation, perhaps, I don't know for sure. But if as you say, your room mates want you gone. 1) Ask your landlord if you can be freed from the lease. 2)if he says it is possible find you another place to stay. 3) Get out of the lease and tell your room mates that you are out of there.

Even a smaller place is better than staying where you are not wanted. Action is better than sitting seething in our own misery. I know because I have had to do this many a time over in my life. I have jumped off cliffs rather than be trapped in a miserable life, and I have lived in misery rather than take a chance, and I would rather jump off the cliff any day.

8. If I'm in a depressive state then heck yeah.
That's when I can't face ANYTHING. I hate f***ing depression/bipolar/whatever my psych says I have.

Though touch wood I haven't had a bad depressive phase for over a year now.

Mark.

11. if I try that
(staying in bed) I ruminate over the problem and pretty soon (like within about 3 minutes) I explode out of bed and do something about the problem.

Which is not necessarily good because sometimes it's just best to do nothing about a problem and yes I am series about that.
