Text messages.
Who else hasn't really caught on to the whole text messaging craze?

I've had a cell phone for 7 years now and I think I've sent a total of 5 text messages.

1. I've sent ZERO.
I only use my cell phone for emergency calls and playing Poker/Scrabble Blast.

2. I hate it
I tried calling my son 3 times last night. He was at a friends house. He couldn't answer his phone, but he could text?

Just pick up your damned phone!!!!

4. I like the concept, but hate having to create them
unless I have a QWERTY keyboard, I don't want to be crafting messages

9. My phone died and I ended up getting a Blackjack II with a QWERTY keyboard.
I like it a lot. I still don't text a ton but it's much easier when I do. I like it more for writing notes, calendar entries and contacts.

6. Phones are for making phone calls.
Not for taking pictures, playing music, or sending text messages.

Phones makes a noise at least somewhat reminiscent of RINGING (not play dumbass annoying ringtones).

Text messages are a PITA.

8. The only text messages I have ever gotten have been from wrong numbers.
Which is really too bad, because one was rather sweet.

:P

12. Text messaging is handy when you're at a rock concert or amusement park
or some other really loud place.

Other than that - just talk on the damn phone or put it away!

13. I use texting a lot....
It's great for when you just need to let somebody know a piece of info without actually having to call. Such as, when you're organizing a meeting of friends for dinner- rather than calling them all, just send one text to them all: "7 @ Olive Garden?" Much better than a bunch of calls, IMHO.

14. I pay specifically for text messages because sometimes, it's a lot more convenient.
Plus, if you can't call someone (like you're at work or something), you can at least covertly text them and as long as you're careful, there wouldn't be any repercussions.

15. I texted a lot when texting was new and novel
Probably haven't sent more than 4 or 5 texts since 2002.

Maybe it's that whole teeny-bopper texting culture that puts me off...
