Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. (okay, really Long Branch)
I finally made it (would you believe a 9 1/2-hr. domestic flight?!). We had had a minor scare when the dial-up here at Repuke Stepdad's (he only owns one home, rents the other, but at least remembers the total is two) was flaking out, but as you can see, it's back up 'n' running.

We will be coming to House #2 in NYC some time early next week. Be advised.

P.S. R.S. thinks that all media except Fox are "controlled by the Kremlin"! The Kremlin!

1. Hey, I'm right down the road in Ocean Grove, just south of Asbury
So what are you doing while you're in town? The surf should be wild this week. The waves were huge last weekend.

If you want some great pizza, try Freddie's on Broadway. Been going there for forty something years.
And if you want a great Hot Dog, check out the Wind Mill on Ocean Avenue.

3. Yes indeed. I remember trying to dissuade you from the marathon commute!
We're practically across the street from the Windmill -- which may come in handy, since R.S. (hey, at least he's a Yankees fan) took the car back to NY until Sat.

Just me and Mom at present. Not sure how long we'll stay after Sun. There could also be a return visit next weekend, before I turn into a pumpkin (pineapple?) next Tues. Anything going on "down the Shore" we should know about? (Mom did mention showing me the "new Asbury", right next door.)

4. Cookman Avenue is a happening place
Lots of cool stores and restaurants, even a paranormal book store!

Commute ain't so bad. Next week I'm going to start taking the train into Hoboken instead of Newark. Less time on Path and I can just settle into my seat and either snooze or try to write, or read.

Have you been over to Pier Village?

5. Mom would actually like that
even a paranormal book store!

Even in NYC she has to go to the East Village (from E. 70s)!

Have you been over to Pier Village?

Of course. We even went to Oceanfest last 4th of July. Why it was so crowded on such a crappy day, I will never know... R.S. did, on the other hand, actually manage to park on one of the streets back there!
