I am alive and well, Hurricane Ike didn't get me.

We had lots of trees go down so we are the last to get power and cable back.

I will try to be back tonight.

4. We lost a lot of trees on the street, mine are OK.

I have been busy around the neighborhood and at the PODS.

We should have cable back by the weekend, just waiting for the power guys to show up and put up two new telephone poles.

I am really sad about Galveston, and the little beach towns we lost.

7. I am at a fast food place that has Wi-Fi.

This place is still busy, last week you couldn't get in the door.

Last week was so strange, time just seem to stop.

Our block was one the few places that had light from the generators.


Everything was so dark, our block was very popular.


It has been nice to take a step back and get away from the world.

I lost track of what day it was.

We lost our beach house, it was located in one of the little beach towns that were destroyed.

We can rebuilt, it was futher back from the beach.

I will really miss that old house.

8. I have been fine.

The places with Wi-Fi were hard to find and than full of people.

The last week was a step back in time.

The dark brings people together, Houston did great.

I am so proud of our Mayor Bill White, he kicked some ass at the PODSs.

Category 1 winds hit Ohio on the 14th (remnants of Ike) and 2 million were without power - in Ohio...

She finally got power back after 5 days. I've been without power for 11 a few years ago. It's a huge step back in time. Felt like a refugee.

Glad you're okay and hope it's not too long before you're online regularly again.

Last I heard we might be getting power back on Friday, I hope so.

The dark does change the way you live, and brings people together.

Houston is OK, it is the little beach towns that took the hit.
