  • Do absolute moral truths exist?
  • Is absolute truth defined by the Bible?
  • Did Jesus Christ live a sinless life?
  • Is God the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe, and does He still rule it today?
  • Is salvation a gift from God that cannot be earned?
  • Is Satan real?
  • Does a Christian have a responsibility to share his or her faith in Christ with other people?
  • Does a Christian have a responsibility to share his or her faith in Christ with other people?
  • Is the Bible accurate in all of its teachings?

<sigh>

Looks like I'm one of the 96% of the world that doesn't have a Biblical worldview. Focus on the Family is going to be sorely disappointed with me.

And yes, #7 and #8 are the same, and yes, they're in the article that way. And yes, Del Tackett can't edit for shit.

Any Loungers to sit next to me on the Handbasket to Hell?

18. Y, N, Y, Y, ?, ?, Y, Y, N
There are two questions I just cannot give a yes/no answer to. One way I answer yes, the other way is no. For the salvation being a gift from God - yes it's true to me that this is the case, but in my simplistic faith just believing that Jesus is God is enough for salvation, hence a gift. But I do believe that salvation can be earned too. As for Satan... I believe in a personal devil and not in the central devil figure. My own worst enemy looks right back at me in the mirror every time I look at it.

But because I cannot answer "y" to every question here means I fail their test. I guess these days I refer to myself as an extrabibilical Christian.

Mark.

22. A religious conversation. I'll chime in with my opinion.
Although I disagree with many things from that organization... I still know they are part of God's creations with faults just like I have faults.

I wanted to say they didn't say anything about others going to hell in that article. Although I think too much fire and brimstone can be used against a person, when in doubt or in a crisis, darkness can make them forget they are saved by reminding them of all the things they were told would damn them. Yet our bibles, and the teachings of Christ are clear. Believe, and know that the decision will be Gods. And he told us his decision, he came to save the world not to condemn it.

But when I think about being judged, I think of a part of the bible.

Jesus is talking to a person begging from hell for relief, and Jesus says the chasm is too wide for the person to cross.

How is this possible? God is all powerfull. So I got to thinking, the chasm is in the mind of the person in Hell. He himself created the divide from God. He damned himself, the only reason that person can not get out, is he chooses not to. This thought always helps me in tough times, knowing that my Lord is always withing grasp, and always available to help anyone.

Even Christian belief says that Jesus went into Hell/Sheol and brought the saints out. This in itself shows that, the chasm, that is too far to cross, is not the making of God, but of man.
