Anybody ever see a UFO?
A few years back I was driving on the highway coming down an overpass and I saw something I've never been able to explain to myself. Above the highway lights, in the sky I saw what looked like a green lightsaber stretch out and then close in on itself. I have no idea what it was but I almost shit a brick. I've always believed that it's statistically impossible that we're alone in this universe but I never expected to see something I couldn't explain.

Anybody else ever see something in the sky they weren't able to rationalize?

And I work as a truck driver mostly at night. I've been all over the country as well. I've talked to a truck driver with 30 years experience about this subject and he said he's never seen anything he couldn't explain.

But I've got a friend in my little, home town of Miamisburg, Ohio who swears he's seen UFOs on more than one occasion while out fishing at night in the river that runs through here. Go figure.

2. Yeah, about 30 years ago...I was camping with some friends on
some land down in NE Iowa, and we saw a configuration of green lights in the sky, in a formation that seemed really odd. They changed direction REALLY quickly, did some funky rotation-thing, changed direction again, then sped off at what seemed to be a completely impossible speed. They were overhead for probably 6-7 minutes, and we were in awe/freaking out. Still have no clue what they might have been. There were six or seven of us out there camping, and we all saw them...it was kinda cool but kinda scary at the same time.

3. my Mum and younger brother swear up and down
they saw one.

We were living in the Southern Peruvian desert near Nazca at the time.

They were returning from Lima in a "colectivo" and saw what they believe was a UFO.

I've no reason to doubt them.

4. sure, but just one
It was close, too. We were driving along the highway and it tracked us for a long time. Finally, when my friend asked me what I was looking at and I responded a "flying saucer," she pulled over abruptly and we jumped out of the car. It disappeared so fast it appeared to sink into the ground.

It was about 30-40 feet across and I would estimate 9 feet in height at the center part. Gray metal like substance. There were windows.

I would say it was 60 feet off the ground as it tracked us. Silent. No sound whatsoever.

Knowing what I know now, I would never jump out of my car like that. On the other hand, maybe our sudden action saved us an abduction, something I would really prefer not to experience.

Re Droopy's comment above, the well known nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, who has written and lectured extensively on UFOs, has never seen one either.

7. Saw something unidentified about a week ago
Edited on Mon Nov-24-08 12:14 AM by Whoa_Nelly
Was up working late and finished about 3AM.

Went outside...saw a small plane fly over, and then a really bright double light, not very high up, flew over silently. No blinking lights and the double light (looked like the first split of a zygote)remained the same double-like sphere and bright as it moved across the sky, never changing in appearance as it went over and moved away. It was flying smoothly and fairly fast.

I looked through my binocs at it (always have them on my patio), and saw nothing but a double white light.
A bit strange.

9. Yep--it was really cool. Just a big orange glowing ball that shot
straight up (soundlessly)into the night sky.

No, it was not a shooting star. Closer than a low-flying plane when I first saw it. When it shot off, it was faster than anything I've ever seen--by far.
