WTF? I just tried to log onto Pokerroom.com
which I used to play constantly years ago. Now it seems I need to play for money but as an American, I can't.

I haven't tried to play in years (and I had to actually sign up under a new name because my old sig/pw would not be accepted without an additional pw they sent to whichever email I signed up for it 4-5 years ago) so is this a new thing? You can only play for money now? And you can't play for money if you live in the US?

with real money.

On edit... oh, I see you're TRYING to play with play money... well, I know PokerStars you can, too. This is what I do. My co-worker plays real $$ there.

2. There are several sites that still accept American players.
Both Cake Poker and Sportsbook Poker, which are different skins of the same poker network, accept American players. I'm playing a cheap tourney on Sportsbook right now.

Eurolinx, which is on the Microgaming network, also accepts American players.

There is also a legal poker site for Americans called Spade Club. Rather than playing for real money, you pay a monthly fee of about $20 and play in freerolls for points and cash prizes. Spade Club is a real donkfest, tho. x(

4. Well, I'm a bit card-dead and there are...
...three hyper-aggressive dooshbags at the table, but maybe the tide will turn. :)

5. I'm trying to register there and can't figure it out
:banghead:

To Register your FREE PokerStars account, select "Create Account" from the "Account" menu in the PokerStars lobby and fill in the necessary fields on the registration form. Be sure to enter a valid email address for your validation code to be sent.

There's no link for this anywhere, so I'm clicking on every single link trying to find it.
