2. I have never heard of them,

3. Well, they were real!
I'm 49 and pretty much the baby of the family so the books (not the ones I posted) were hand-me-downs from my much older siblings.

4. I'm wondering how big they were in the U.S.
I went to their homepage and clicked the 'Overseas Contacts' link, but there's no mention of the U.S.

5. I'm English and I brought my kids up on Ladybird books
They were great - they started off with the 'Run Pat Run" kind to teach reading, then they went into all different areas. I especially liked the fairy tales - very true to the original Grimm stuff, all illustrated. I used to read to my kids at bed time, they loved them all.









And many more.
