5. No platform is imune. PERIOD. Anyone advertising otherwise is Satan's bed buddy.
As more people think that Macs or Linux are some sort of magic bulletproof panaceas and migrate (which is expensive for either case, particularly the former :( ), hackers will go that route. Like everything else, it's about the quickest profitability.

Linux virii have been around a tad longer, because of its popularity as a server OS. And considering how Linux is in everything from a toaster to a TV to a PDA to you-name-it-because-it's-cheaper-to-leech-from-open-source-than-to-make-your-own-damn-product, once someone finds a silver bullet...

The highest rated vehicles only meet the minimum safety standards and even if you're in a Volvo and you get hit by a train...
