Please raise your glasses in a toast to The Blaine Act.
The Blaine Act was sponsored by Wisconsin senator John J. Blaine and passed by the United States Senate on February 17, 1933, to repeal the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, or Prohibition (The Volstead Act.
The repeal was formally adopted as the 21st Amendment of the Constitution on December 5, 1933.
Senator Blaine died April 18, 1934.

Here's to Senator Blaine!
