3. When I was 16 years old
my buddy got his driver's license and pulled up in front of my house with his brand new beat up old junk of a rambler. I jumped on the hood and he started driving down the street, took his foot off the gas pedal and I slid off in front of his car which continued to roll. The right front tire was coming right at my head. He said he looked back and didn't know where I was so he stopped just inches from my head. For those few seconds I thought I was going to be killed and was incredibly at peace with the world. Banged up my arm a little bit but otherwise unscathed.

5. Same here.

When I realized I was "going to" die and accepted that as a fact, there was a great release of all the stress leading up to that moment, and I was very much at peace as I slipped into unconsciousness.

6. I remember thinking
for just a second or two, "well there's nothing I can do now." It was a helluva lot more scary tell my Dad how I got the scar on my arm.

7. I was seriously ill as a teenager, and actually died for a short while.
What I experienced isn't something I'm willing to describe on a public message board, but if you really want to know, PM me and I'll write back later today.

8. I don't want to pry, but...
I'm mainly interested to know if that experience affects the way you think about death, life, etc.

9. Yes it does.
I believe in an afterlife and a supreme being as a direct result of my experience. And I strive for compassion and tolerance.

13. I did not know that about you.
I mean about the NDE, not the compassion and tolerance, which is very evident. That's very interesting.
