My ex-bf, the Les Majeste expert, just communicated again. He's writing a book.

Who is actually one of the most interesting people in US history not taught in high school. A Republican Congressman from NY, a staunch anti-fascist and supporter of the New Deal, he was active in support of the election of FDR and was one of the earliest advocates of US entry into WW II. He went on to be the first Italian-American elected Mayor of NYC. Also, he was 5'0".

I flew through LaGuardia last year, and it's a dump. The roof was leaking on a clear day, for heaven's sake.

Because he got pissed-off that passengers flying to NYC had to fly to Newark, NJ because NYC did not have a major airport and take a train into NYC even though the tickets and itineraries said New York. So...flying back to NYC, he ordered the pilot to land at Floyd Bennett commercial airfield in Brooklyn instead. The airport subsequently built on the site was named for him.

I agree though...it's a crappy airport. I hate flying in and out of JFK more though. I'd gladly fly to Newark instead.
