Why was the movie The Cable Guy made?
It has to be one of the most awful movies ever, and I like Jim Carrey.

1. Why is any movie made?
Because a studio thought it would make money. It could have been worse...Jennifer Aniston could have been in it.

My receiver is possessed tonight. It keeps rebooting itself... of course this happens when I'm trying to record a Christmas special for the kids. It's some new one with the Freeze Meister and the Heat Meister... and I kinda wanted to see it too. :D

10. so that people would pay to go see it....
so that those who put money into it's production could get even more money. That's why most movies are made.

20. This has to be one of the most divisive movies ever made.
You either really hated it (like me) or really liked it (like my douche friend).

21. Instead of being creative, studios try to find something for so-and-so.
That also explains television.
