My new baby kitten
Edited on Mon Dec-15-08 09:01 AM by Faye
I got a kitten on Saturday, adopted from a rescue team. We named her Nelly. She is so sweet! She is still being a little shy but she is very affectionate and likes people. They weren't sure exactly how old she is but I think around 7 or 8 weeks? She is really tiny! The pics make her look bigger than she really is. My 8 year old daughter picked her out, I came up with the name. She has gookies in her eyes, aw.

1. Awww- she's a cutie!
Be sure to get her first shots if she hasn't had them yet. :)

Oh, and be sure to give her a big ol' hug!

gets them dewormed and first shots before they are adopted. Then when the kitten is old enough, they come and take it back for a day to get it fixed. There was $80 adoption fee but it covers them getting spayed or neutered. So when they come back, I don't have to pay for anything.

20. That is such a smart way to have pets adopted. Make em have a free operation
after the initial fee.

10. I love her! She's so, so CUTE!
I want to cry because she reminds me so much of my kitty girl, who is now 16 and still healthy and frisky. I got her when she was a little fuzzball kitten and looked a lot like that. :loveya:

Thanks for rescuing this little darling! :hi:

12. Ugly little beast.
That can be cured by lots of stroking and petting and loving and stuff, though.

:P And just kidding, she's adorably cute!

13. I assume she's feeling more comfortable...
I just came home for lunch and she came out mewing at me - no reason, had food and water, litter pan is still clean, guess she was just saying hello! Then she suddenly decided to run across the kitchen floor a few times, slipping and sliding. It was hilarious. I am thinking she is feeling more at home and had some energy built up from hiding and sitting so long. LOL

14. Awww. She's found a quiet dark place that makes her feel safe.
I'm sure she'll feel comfortable soon. Kittens are experts at fitting in. No cat can resist them.

15. awww she is cute. My good friend in KY has a kitty named Nelly. I hope your
cat is as nice as hers. Even half as nice would be a pretty nice cat.

Enjoy your new baby

16. Ready to be a tweat monster.
Our cats are nuts. One lives by the heat vent, the other lives by the sink, in desperate hope that someone will turn on the water for her (she's fixated).

May Nelly be sane. But I doubt it.

18. Awww...how cute!
I bet she'll get over her shyness once she gets used to her surroundings. Just give her loving and lots of space in the meantime.

Congrats on your new addition, Faye! She's adorable!

21. Nelly is precious!
Edited on Mon Dec-15-08 10:52 PM by wartrace
She knows you are owned. She will instruct you on the proper procedures for the care & handling of Nelly when Nelly deems it necessary. Until that time please do not attempt to handle Nelly in any way other than what Nelly is willing to tolerate. Nelly will correct your behavior as necessary. Now get Nelly a cat toy or treat or Nelly shall steal your breath as you sleep.
