Post a picture of a underrated city
A city some place other than New York, Chicago, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Preferably a city where most people think there isn't anything exciting about it but you've found it to be a pretty neat place to visit or live.

I'll start.

Jacksonville, Florida.

I don't know why I like Jacksonville so much--it's far from a major destination city and politically is rather on the conservative side. But nonetheless, I like the city a lot. It's setting on the St. Johns River, with its bridges, is very scenic. It's near the ocean, and St. Augustine and Amelia Island. It's got a nice airport and a great zoo. But I guess what I like best about it is that the people seem to have a good sense of pride about the city and want it to run with the big dogs in terms of major US cities. It hasn't quite reached that level yet, but I think it will get there soon.

8. The Oakland Hills have kick-ass views of the bay, and Tilden Park is fabulous.
Ahhh, the smell of eucalyptus and fog. *sigh*

I also have fond memories of going to Children's Fairyland as a kid.

My dad used to work at Jack London Square -- I just LOVED that little cabin from the Yukon gold rush that sits in J.L. Square.

9. Pittsburgh
When I passed through, I was surprised at how scenic it was. I prefer hilly cities (San Francisco, Seattle) and so that gives it automatic bonus points in my book. Plus, the convergence of the rivers, the bridges, the woodsy areas ... Very nice! My city (Portland) and Pittsburgh seem somewhat similar.

12. Houston
Because it's my town, and I love it (Austinites hate it ;))
And we're always snubbed out of mention in general conversation about big cities, i.e., "New York, Chicago, Los Angeles or San Francisco" ;)
